QUESTIONS ABOUT POOL CONSTRUCTION

How long does it take to build a swimming pool?
On average we usually need at least 5-6 weeks from planning to completion. Difficulties such as site access can extend this period longer.

Can I build a pool on the roof of my house/apartment?
We have built pools on roofs and terraces and pools over garages and driveway ramps, however you will need to get professional advice on this question from your architect. Nowadays nothing is impossible.

Do I need to have a large well near my pool?    
Yes, you will need a supply of water to top up your pool as water evaporates or is lost with use. Using mains water supply for this is not recommended so it is a good idea to have a well close to the pool. We often incorporate the construction of water reservoirs in our designs if one is not already available.

My house is located very close to the sea shoreline, can I pump sea water directly from the sea?           
Yes, however this requires a special application to be completed by your architect.

Do I need to connect my pool to the drainage system? 
No, this is not necessary as you will very rarely need to empty your pool. In some cases where connection to the drainage system is not possible, arrangements for emptying the pool in a waste water bowser are adequate.

Do I need 3-phase electricity supply?
No, pool equipment works well on a normal domestic electricity supply.

Will your people carry out other structural works such as building a pool room, etc?
Yes, our building crew can handle minor structural works as part of the construction project.

Will you finish my deck area with tiles, turf, wood decking?
Our building crew can be employed to lay tiles or flooring for the application of other surfaces, however turf and wood decking installations are best left to experts in those fields.

Do you do landscaping/gardening of the surrounding areas?     
No, we do not get into landscaping or planting of trees and shrubs. This is best done by expert gardeners. We do however leave the site of the pool in a clean state when the work is finished.
